Once you are a member of U3A Hobsons Bay/Williamstown you will be entitled to enrol in courses throughout the year. Your membership fee generally covers the cost of courses plus contributes to the running of the organisation – including electricity at the Cottage, printing, telephone, insurance and other costs. Small extra charges for materials sometimes apply.
Membership is per calendar year and must be renewed each year at the end of the year.

How to join U3A Hobsons Bay/Williamstown for new members
Thank you for your interest in joining U3A Hobsons Bay/Williamstown. Your membership involves a few steps:
- Complete a membership form online at
- Go to ‘Activities’. Choose your first preferred activity. Click ‘Add to cart’. The number 1 will appear in the CART icon in the ribbon at the top of the page.
- Choose your next preferred activity, if you have one. Click ‘Add to cart’. The number 2 will appear in the CART icon in the ribbon at the top of the page.
- Choose up to 2 more activities, as above
- Click on the CART icon. Check the details that appear. If they are correct click the CHECKOUT button
- The invoice will appear. You can either print the invoice or make a note of the amount and the Invoice ID Reference Number. Payment options are listed with the invoice, either bank transfer or cheque. For bank transfers, remember to add your first initial and surname (or the member you are paying for) to the payment reference. And for cheques, make sure the member name is clear. If we don’t know who the payment is for, we won’t be able to activate your membership!
NB: To locate the invoice at a later time, login and click on ‘My Invoices’.
