WELCOME TO THE 2024 ART EXHIBITION

This year marks the third year of the U3A Hobsons Bay/Williamstown Art Exhibition.

The exhibition brings together a number of art groups within U3A, including a drawing group, two painting groups, a plein air group and an abstract art discussion group.

These groups are part of U3A Hobsons Bay/Williamstown which provides educational, creative and leisure activities for seniors.

The artworks produced by the art groups are varied, driven mostly by individual’s choice and interest. Typical subject matter includes portraits, animals of all kinds, botanical, architectural, landscapes and so on. The media used covers all types as well, from watercolours, oils, acrylics, pastels, graphite, charcoal, pen and pencil and more. As well as producing impressive artworks, the groups share ideas, critique each other’s work and socialize. There are lots of laughs and new friendships created.

We want to acknowledge the support of our generous sponsors, Hobsons Bay City Council. This sponsorship enables all group members to participate in the exhibition, through the provision of some of our materials.

We always welcome new members of all ages and abilities (including absolute beginners). As they say, you are never too old to start a new activity! Especially true with such a supportive group.
